My Artwork

In my GCSEs, I was given different themes to create my coursework with. The themes I chose were: Journeys and Exploration, Genres at War, Visual Arts and Still Life.
The exam unit was Visual Art and was based on Industrial Revolution. I took multiple photos including a Windmill, Winches, Bitumen Production Plant and some of the Harbour equipment. These photos were then used for me to practice the artist research and create artwork.

This is my final piece, the finished outcome from all the practice and research in my exam unit. My last part of the exam unit was to create the final piece in 10 hours that were split into 2 days. The artwork was based on the Bitumen Production Plant in Whitstable harbour which is near my local town. I screen printed and collaged to make a mixed media artwork. The ship created in this artwork was inspired from the vessels moored in the harbour and from the offshore construction and support ships that were featured in my dad's marine technology magazines.

Artist Sofia Areal who is an abstract painter. She was a painter and a drawer and a scenographer that means designing and painting theatrical scenery. The artist creates her work with collages and textile designs hence I created my artwork on canvas and on cardboard.

This artwork I created was originally made by an artist called Eric Rewriter (the middle top image). Eric Rewriter was a print maker specialises in lino printing. I wanted to test out which material was the best one to use; to potentially use lino printing in my final piece. I tested lino printing on magazine page, newspaper, plain paper, on fabric and on cardboard.

Susan Schenk was a mix media artist who used recycled magazines, maps, paint and malicious recyclable items to create a collage. In my artwork I used oil pastels, charcoal, tissue paper and papers from a map to create my mixed media piece. My art work of Susan Schenk was part of the Visual Art Industrial Revolution portfolio.
Romero Britto was an artist I chose to create my pop art artwork for the Genres at War portfolio. This artist does painting and sculpting. Romero Britto combines graffiti, cubism and pop art to make his final pieces. The cat artwork stood out the most for me, and personally was my favourite artwork to create in my portfolio.
